To mark the 50th anniversary of the Apollo missions, NASA has unveiled an official logo to be used from 2018 through 2022 in celebrating the exciting milestones in landing a dozen Americans on the moon between 1969 and 1972.

The logo was designed by NASA artist Matthew Skeins and illustrates not only the incredible progress the organization has made, but offers a glimpse into the next 50 years of space exploration.

This anniversary also overlaps NASA's 60th anniversary - a milestone which should be shouted from the rooftops. In just 60 years, we have sent spacecraft beyond every. Single. Planet. That is absolutely astounding.

We can't wait to see what the next 60 years holds - perhaps within that time we'll be celebrating missions to Mars (fingers crossed).
